New: "Account Credits" Now Available

Do you have special end-user accounts where you'd like to be able to issue a credit? Ever want to issue a "credit" instead of a cash or credit card refund? A new feature is now available for sports registration administrators to apply "credits" to specific end-user accounts.  This is the number one requested feature in our Feedback Forum and we aim to please!

Some examples of how to use account credits: You may want to allow for board member or coach discounts, store/apparel credits, scholarships and just issuing a credit to an un-registered player instead of a refund to their credit card.  Authorized administrators can issue a credits to a user account by indicating the amount of the credit and reason it was issued.  Upon login, the account owner will see the credit as it is prominently displayed at the top of the screen - the funds are automatically applied to their next order.  Very simple!

New Overview Video Available for System Administrators

By now we hope you are familiar with our Support Center and are enjoying all it's great features.  However, are you aware of our updated SportsSignup Overview Video?  This is a valuable resource for both new and experienced system administrators.  It is intended to help new online sports registration administrators navigate the site, to highlight system features and introduces system concepts and terminology. Updates: Finance Reports 2.0 Now Available

SportsSignup is committed to helping administrators account for their system finances. After careful consideration and feedback from our Customer Advisory Board, and consultation with CPA's on best practices for accrual-based accounting, we have made significant enhancements changes to the finance reports. The reports will accommodate our new services, including MySportsStore - Powered by Eastbay and are intended to be in line with standard accounting practices. We have made documentation available that outlines the changes so you can easily become familiar with the new reports, along with best practices for accrual-based accounting for your organization.

New: Coach Manageable Fields

Part of taking the hassle out of running your sports organization is distributing the work load to others. For example, using online sports registration you are having families maintain their own information (address, e-mail, phone, etc). With Coach Manageable Fields, sports administrators can create custom questions and allow coaches to enter the information for each registrant on their team.

The best example of this is player rankings. Instead of having a single administrator enter this information - now you can put the data entry in the hands of the coach, a scenario that saves time and provides better accuracy of data. Using this feature is easy, when you set up a new custom question, there is a checkbox called "Coach Manageable." When coaches view their teams, they will be able to bulk edit these fields so they can be easily reported on from administrator reports.

New: Round Robin Automated Team Assignment Now Available

We are very pleased to announce a feature that will give administrators the ability to auto-assign teams based on a specific field.  This feature will greatly enhance the already robust team management capabilities within the SportsSignup player registration system.  Here are the highlights:

• Ability to assign teams “round robin” style based on a field, such as birth date. For example,  based on one division or year (like 1st graders), this allows for balanced teams based on age, so the older kids are spread across the teams evenly.  This can also be used if club has a RATING field which, thanks to another new feature, can now be updated by coaches.

• Note: You can run this feature multiple times, as new registrations come in.

• A summary is provided indicating how many participants will end up on teams by age group before assignments are made.

• A re-do or mass reset can be done if the administrator needs to add or delete teams.

New Financial Reports Coming Soon

In late February, 2010 we will release some new finance reports, based on feedback from our customers. As a result of this change, some of the existing reports will be replaced. The new reports will accommodate our new services and are intended to move closer to standard accounting practices. We will provide more details as the release date gets closer.

New: Multi-Select Custom Questions

A new feature has been added to Custom Questions that allows you to add a "multi-select" question. With this feature enabled, registrants will be given a list of choices, and they can select one or more items. Click on the graphic to see what this looks like during a registration.

Setting this up is easy: When creating a List or Surcharge Custom Question, a new option appears called "Allows Multiple Options." Checking this box will present the registrant with a multi-select list instead of a drop-down.  Note that if you Require the custom question to be answered, it will require that at least one answer be selected to continue.

New: Set Division Capacity

Do you need to set a capacity control on a Division without creating a Waiting List?

Many administrators have requested the ability to close a Division automatically when a specified number of people have registered, without starting a Waiting List.  This can now be done within the Division settings.   First, the number of allowed registrants are placed in the “Open Slots” field.  A new check box is available called Wait List.  When un-checked, the Wait List is disabled, meaning the number indicated in Open Slots is the cap or maximum number the Division will allow.
